MY NATURE

I wrote this inner journey song to remind me that nature is my anchor, outside and inside. The path to wholeness is there, and that I am that which I am seeking.

I want to walk among the roses
Breathe the fragrance, bless the thorn
Imitate the breeze blowing through some shady trees
And sing praises to this magical morn

Grace is described as “favor that does not need to be earned,” and it flowed to me for this song. It wrote itself – I just held my guitar, breathed and let a photo of John Lennon inspire me. (I like to think we collaborated!)

It occurred to me one day that there is great truth in the phrase “God is Love.” It’s also true that God is Light. And it follows that Love is Light, too. Happily, they are all interchangeable…and indispensable. It’s fun to mix up the words when you sing this chorus, and it sure makes the point!

This “call to action” song reminds us that our own inner guidance system is the only GPS we ever need on life’s journey. Follow your heart and your mind will follow. On a personal note, my own heart bursts with joy whenever I hear this song because my wonderful and musical nephew, Zachary Aaron Kimmel, added his youthful enthusiasm and sweet voice to the recording.
